About Us

Hey there! Welcome to Gritty Pet Co., your friendly neighbourhood pet health and wellness store from NB, Canada! 🇨🇦

We're a passionate, gritty, family business, eager to help your family with the best speciality pet info and brands.

We do not carry every item under the sun but rest assured what we do have is hand picked to offer the very best for your furry loved ones.

Our Story

Our animals give us so much joy and companionship, and it was important to us when thinking about beginning our business journey that our fur family is represented at the core of what we do.

We are a small, young family from New Brunswick, Canada, and we are passionate about our pets. Focusing on healthy habits and excellent nutrition means that we get to hold onto them just a bit longer. We figured that you’d want the same, so here we are!

Currently, we have two large breed dogs, 15 chickens, 20+ small fish, and we are about to jump headfirst into geckos and maybe a goat or two (a life-long dream!).

It is important to us to surround ourselves and our kiddo with the joys that nature and animals bring to our lives, but also instil in her the importance of responsible and empathetic animal care.

Gritty is how we want to walk the talk. We hope you will walk it with us!

Dr Ibrar Ahmed (Julie) is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DMV) with a Master of Philosophy in Animal Nutrition. He has been looking after 2 dog shelters and a well-established dog food and care research centre since 2019.

Free Shipping? You Bet!

Good news! We offer FREE shipping across Canada on orders over $49.99 (before taxes) for most products. Just a heads up, items labeled as heavy and oversized aren’t included. Orders under $49.99, have a $9.99 flat fee.

Fast and Fur-ious Shipping:
Orders placed Monday to Friday by 2 PM EST usually ship the same day. Depending on whether they ship from our Ontario or New Brunswick warehouse, they'll typically arrive within 4 business days in Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes, and 4-7 days to the West Coast. We’ll email your tracking number as soon as we send your package off!

We team up with UPS & Canada Post to get your orders to you the fastest way we can.

A Little Extra Info:
Heads up to our friends in Nunavut, Northwest Territories, Yukon, and some rural spots—additional shipping fees might apply.

Our Return Policy? It's Simple!

Need to return your item? No worries! We're happy to accept returns of items in new, un-spoiled condition—complete with all the original packaging—within 14 days of you receiving your goodies.

Here’s How We Roll with Returns:

Opt for Store Credit with FREE RETURNS: Want to swap your item? Returns are on us, including the shipping! Just use the prepaid label we email you, and drop off your package at any Post Office. (Note: We don't refund the original shipping charges, though.)

Get a Refund: Prefer your money back the way you paid? No problem. You'll just need to handle the return shipping costs. (Just like above, we don’t refund the original shipping charges.)
